I have some exciting news. I have co-founded a new Vegan festival called Vegan Futures which will happen at the Stour Space, Hackney Wick, London on the 7th November.
I have been working my arse off to get this launched with my Vegan Futures Co-Founder Jen and Judy our festival curation superstar.
I feel already we have assembled some of the brightest and most inspiring activists, athletes, chefs and personalities from the Vegan community. And over the coming weeks we will be adding several more. If you have any suggestions to add to our line up, please let me know.
I wanted to talk to you a little bit about why we felt the time was right to create the Vegan Futures festival.
Both Jen and I are passionate about advocating a Vegan lifestyle. We are constantly telling our friends and family how great this lifestyle makes us feel physically and mentally.
Also more widely our society is facing a crisis of conscience as millions of animals suffer every day and we are in a midst of an environmental and health crises.
We both believe that a societal shift towards eating more plant-based foods and eventually going Vegan is the best way to swiftly improve the planet we live on.
You don’t only stop contributing to animal suffering, you improve your physical health and reduce your impact on the environment.
We wanted to curate a day that celebrates people thriving on a Vegan lifestyle. Hence why we created Vegan Futures it’s essentially all about creating a better, healthier more compassionate world.
Recently I have been reflecting on what my future holds. I have always led my life as someone who tries to stay true to what I believe in. This has led to wonderful things unfolding manifesting in front of me. It also has meant times of hardship and financial and emotional struggle.
In Kundalini yoga they tune into and out of a session with the words “Sat Nam,”, meaning ‘Truth is my identity,”. Spreading positive messages about protecting the environment having compassion for animals and keeping fit is my truth.
In creating this festival I feel like I am living my values. It plays to my skills of connection and creativity and hopefully we provide something that will nourish and inspire people both on the day and online after the festival.
I hope to see you all there.
Peace and love,
